SEO for Tree Service Companies, From Storm Cleanup to Planned Trimming
By Mohamed Eltoukhy, founder of EVOGENCY ·
Tree service work comes in two very different shapes. There's the urgent call, a tree on a house, a fallen limb blocking a driveway, storm damage after a hurricane. And there's the planned job, trimming before storm season, removing a dying oak, grinding a stump. Customers search differently for each, and your SEO should account for both.
Urgent searches need fast answers
Someone searching "emergency tree removal" or "tree fell on house" needs a phone number, proof you're legitimate, and a sense of how quickly you can come out. Build a dedicated page for emergency and storm work with the phone number at the very top and a short explanation of what you do after a storm.
Be honest about availability. After a major storm, demand spikes. Saying clearly how you prioritize emergencies earns more trust than promising to be everywhere at once.
Planned work needs detail
Trimming, removal, stump grinding, land clearing, and tree health assessments are researched purchases. People want to know what's involved, what affects cost, whether permits are needed, and how you protect their property.
Give each service its own page. Explain the factors that affect price, like tree size, location, proximity to structures, and access. Address cleanup, because people care a lot about whether you'll leave their yard a mess.
Show credentials
Tree work is dangerous, and customers know it. Display your insurance clearly, and mention any certified arborists on your team. If your area requires a license or permits for certain removals, explain how you handle it. These details separate you from someone with a chainsaw and a pickup truck.
Your Google profile
Choose the most accurate category, set real service areas, and post photos of your crew and equipment at work, plus finished jobs. Photos of careful removals near homes are especially convincing.
Reviews after every job
Ask every customer for a review when the job is finished and the yard is clean. Reviews that mention safety, cleanup, and how the crew handled a tricky tree are exactly what the next customer wants to read.
Seasonal content
In hurricane prone areas, homeowners search for tree trimming before storm season starts. A helpful guide on preparing trees for storms, or signs a tree might be a hazard, attracts people who book ahead and builds your reputation as the expert.
